i dont want to be fat

i dont want to be fat. it is because it will make me feel lack of confident in something i do and the most important reason is i want to be fit to run the responsibility as a mother.  while we went back to Malaysia recently, i saw my mother, grandmother and almost my family members who are women are big in size and i then realize that i will inherit the gene if and only if i  neglect the exercise and not keeping the proper diet. my family tend to have dinner late at night which is after isyak or may be later than that. After dinner they will go straight to bed.  Thus as we know food that we eat needs several hours to be digested and the food that not digested properly will assemble into fat.  Worse come to worst many malaysian like to have heavy supper at mamak stall while watching the football match on the wide screen provided.  This is really not a healthy eating pattern. While we in Terengganu for about a week, we had this nasi dagang,...

shingles

it has been a while since my last post and i dont even know how to start again.  Errmm let talk about shingles or herpes zoster.  Have you ever heard about the disease?  Actually my eldest daughter is now being infected by this disease and for those who still clueless about it, shingles is caused by the reactivation of the dormant virus in the nerves of people who have previously had chickenpox or whose immunity has weakened.  A typical rash or small red blisters, which are very itchy and painful may appear on the chest or face.  In my daughter's case, the rash appear on the back.   In Malay, we called it "kayap" but i really dont like the word cause it sound like another one skin disease which is "kurap". Dada is given one week leave and next week is a golden week here(the whole week is holiday), which means she will be at home for 2 consecutive weeks! So, i have to plan activities to do with her so that she and me will not going crazy h...

getting kids to eat vegetables

Image
siapa yang suka sayur? rasanya memang lebih ramai yang tak suka daripada suka.  saya pun sejak-sejak dah 'dewasa' nih jer baru gemar sayur.  being a mother, it is my conscious to ensure the kids to eat more veggies or at least have some green nutrition in their daily meals. and of course getting the children to eat veggies is often a battle. i'm trying hard to persuade them to eat by telling "all the good stories behind" but it seems failed. me:  mama letak sayur dlm jemput-jemput ni ya? dada: kalau sayur tak rasa bole la. sayur tak rasa is either daun sup or daun bawang yang dipotong dengan sangat-sangat kecil.  kalau ada hirisan bawang, dia akan siang jemput-jemput tuh sampai lunyai hingga takde satu hirisan bwg pon! kalau saya sudukan dia mee sup or makanan yang ader sayur, even sudu tuh dah nak masuk dalam mulut dia pun mata dia masih tajam check kat dalam sudu tuh ada sayur ke tak.  last-last dia hanya pilih part yang takde sayur jek .tension! b...

menambah zuriat??

Image

dulu, masa muda-muda cukup tak suka bila dengar kawan-kawan membebel, "aku dah gemuk!!", "alaa..arinih tak nak makan la, nak diet". berbulu jer dengo, menyampah pon ader. tengok badan masing-masing kurus jer, tapi membebel gemuk manjang. masa tuh, makan banyak manapun berat maintain 44-45kg. iyalah, anak dara katakan...banyak benda nak buat, banyak benda nak pikir, makan pon ala kadar jer siap kena amik supplement scotts emulsion lagi sbb nak tambah selera makan. tapi itu cerita lama, masa mengandung berat naik mencanak tak hengat. lepas bersalin berat turun la jgk walaupon tidak secara drastik berkat berpantang(yg kdg2 on n off tuh) dan breastfeeding. tetapi of course la tak back to original weight, ada terlebih sana sini. sungguhpon begitu tidak la rasa nak slimming down bersungguh-sungguh sangat. sehinggalah baru-baru nih perasaan nak menguruskan badan tuh membuak-buak sebab terasa betapa gemuknya daku sekarang dan selepas ditegur orang. sebenarnya, bukan sema...

seiza

Image
when i went to fetch my kids from the kindergarten, most of time i saw them sitting quietly in orderly manner, while enjoying watching the videos. it is not the videos that matter, but the way of their sitting that really attracted me more. have you ever seen seiza-sitting style? what is seiza? seiza is a Japanese term for the traditional formal way of sitting. to sit seiza-style, one first kneels on the floor, folding one's legs underneath one's thighs, while resting the buttocks on the heels. depending on the circumstances, the hands are folded modestly in the lap, or are placed palm down on the upper thighs with the fingers close together, or are placed on the floor next to the hips. the back is kept straight. traditionally, women sit with the knees together while men separate them slightly. doing seiza-sitting style is a required part of several traditional Japanese arts such as certain martial arts and tea ceremony. a women in seiza-sitting style performing tea ceremo...

l ast Wednesday, fareeha suddenly had a severe vomiting and it continues all along the night till the next day.The Doctor predicted that she was affected by norovirus or similar to diarrhea/food poisoning. she keeps vomit for 2 days and today she starts to pooshh! as if i'm not mistaken, this is the third times or may be more she got affected by all these kind of viruses, since our staying here. other viruses are rotavirus and hand, foot & mouth disease (HFMD). from the reading, i found that: 1) the viruses are transmitted by faecally contaminated food or water and by person to person contact. 2) it typically occurs in closed or semi closed communities such as kindergartens, hospital, prisons and dormitories. 3)symptoms: vomiting, diarrhea and the worst case, severe diarrhea may leading to death through dehydration. 4)usually affects infants and children except for norovirus 5)usually occurs during summer and autumn months (for HFMD only) i wonder why this little girl is ea...
