the most favorite memory of my childhood

Image
I was asked to tell a story during my English course "communicate with confidence" and I chose "your favorite memory of childhood" as my topic.  since I was not in the mood that day and it was spontaneous, I felt like I wasn't doing good in that session.  Therefore, I thought to share it here, in a proper way, in the medium that I think I do better than speaking.  It was during my childhood when the teacher's day celebration was just around the corner, I thought about giving something special to my favorite teacher, Teacher Janet.  So, I asked ayah to buy me a bouquet of roses to be given to Teacher Janet.  I imagined that the bouquet was nice, with a few red and beautiful roses, wrapped in a lovely plastic wrapper, then I proudly presented it to my teacher in front of my friends.  But, that was only a naive child's dream, without realizing her family condition at that time. Hailed from a moderate family,  giving a bouquet of flowers to people was some...

undoukai

Image
Undoukai or sports day that held in many schools/kindergarten here is much much different compared to the one we have in Malaysia.  After 3 times joined the event, i'm truly speaking that the sports day here is more meaningful in a way: to develop student's mind and attitude, of teamwork, of determination and of whole school involvement. The event is as simple as any other event that took place.  Here i listed down the things that distinguish us from them: pelajar-pelajar dari pasukan rumah merah dan putih there is only 2 teams involve which is white team and red team there is no khemah provided for each team, students just sit on their own chair according to their team. there is no purposely shirt for sport, every student wear their usual track suit. only the cap that differentiate whether they are red team or white there is no prize for any event, so there is no prize given ceremony during the event except for the closing. involvement of all student, regard...

Happy Teacher's Day

Image
One fine morning, there was one little girl who whining her father for a bunch of flowers to be given to her teacher.  It was a teachers day and she want to give the flowers to her classroom teacher as everybody in the class were intended to do so.  However, father refused to buy because it was not their family's customs to celebrate any event by giving flowers and moreover a bunch of beautiful flowers of the florist at that time was a bit  costly .  But the girl insisted to have them and was about to cry when suddenly father came out with this one brilliant idea.  He took a cutter and  disappeared  out of the house.  He came back later with a bunch of bougainvillea in his hand. He then took a secondhand ribbon out of nowhere and tied it at the base of the stem.  It was perfectly done, he handed to his daughter, smiling.  the girl anyhow didn't feel satisfied because after all she just want the one that from the florist.   whe...

Ongaku Happyoukai 2011

Image
Ongaku Happyoukai or Musical Concert is an annual event of the school and was held on February 20th, in Lyric Hall Nagaoka City.  This was the last performance by Dada and her class(Bara San), the most senior class as they are going to primary school by next April.  Beside sing and dance, this time Dada had a chance to play vibraphone and keyboard. Dada plays vibraphone I was very proud and happy each time i watched them on stage, and i'm pretty sure every parent would feel the same.  They really performed well as they were doing it wholeheartedly.    As previous year, the parent of Bara Class will be participate in one special performance as a tribute to the school for the good collaboration all these years.  We were singing two songs,  Namidakun Sayounara and Believe.  For the second song, though the tittle sounds English, it only has four english words in it. We did practicing it several times before the day, but some of pa...

lelaki

Image

tanabata

Image
Tanabata or also known as star festival is a famous festival in Japan that is celebrated every year on July 7 ( or august 7 in some places). When this time of year comes around, people write down their wishes on a stripes of colour paper, along with decoration and hang them on the bamboo trees, placed in the backyards or entrances of their homes. Then they pray hard that their wishes will come true. the festival traces its origin to a legend that the Cowherd Star (Altair) and Weaver Star (Wega), lovers separated by a Milky Way, are allowed to meet just once a year, which is on the seventh day of the seventh month.  it was originated more than 2000 years ago with a tale called kikkoden.  Once there was a weaver princess named Orihime and a cow herder prince named Hikoboshi.  After they got together, they were playing all the time and forgot their jobs.  The king was angry and separated them on opposite sides of the Amanogawa River(Milky Way).  The kin...

a 'gift' for a man

Image
this entry might be something personal, thought to share it here on how i celebrate the very-very-important-man in my life. last Saturday was my hubby's birthday, and as usual i make a planning to celebrate the day with the kids. i like surprises so much, and always plan to surprise him on the birthday. but since we have khaleeda, the surprise turned out to no-surprise because of big mouth she had! always, " papa, mama dah beli kek utk papa tadi, tapi ssshhh surprise!", and vice versa the same thing happened on my birthday too. so, when they shouted "surprise!!!", what he/me did was to pretend as we know nothing and acted like really get shocked of the surprise. like last tuesday, i trained dada n ari to sing the birthday song and they did sing the song immediately right after their papa is home. papa just smiled and said,"blom lagi, blom lagi la..." but, this time i planned to throw the party one day earlier which is on Friday and kept it secret...
