Satu hari dalam perjalanan pulang ke rumah, tiba-tiba sebuah kereta hampir2 melanggar seekor anjing yg sedang melintas jalan. Spontan reaksi saya,” nasib baik tak kena kereta, kalu tak kemek!”..pintas cik abang, “eh kenapa pulak nasib baik tak kena kereta? Nasib baik tak kena anjing la. Mana lebih penting nyawa anjing ke, kereta?” saya terpukul dengan jawapan itu. Sebenarnya pesepsi banyak orang melayu khususnya saya, anjing itu binatang yang hina, tak berguna, garang, ditakuti dan dibenci. Pesepsi itu diwarisi sejak turun temurun mungkin disebabkan statusnya sebagai najis mughollazah, iaitu najis berat maka kita seboleh mungkin cuba untuk menghindarinya. Malah di Malaysia, banyak kes anjing gila yang menyerang manusia. Di tempat saya mengajar sekarang nih, ada seekor anjing milik tuan punya bangunan yang sangat besar dan ‘garang’. Setiap kali ke situ, saya akan berdoa sambil mulut tak abis2 mengucapkan ayat 'summum bukmun~. Kalau bernasib baik, saya tak akan berjumpa dgnn...
This is my latest project, fuji san. Actually it is not 100% complete, but i just cant have patience to wait until it to be published here. Because this one took me about 5 weeks time to completed, which is amongst the longest project i had so far. To make the color of mountain and sky look like what you may see now, i myself cannot remember how many times i had layered on it. That is what water color is, layer by layer that makes the drawing differ and lively. My sensei told me that, it still need some touching up here and there...but then it is here to public. In English the mountain is known as Mount Fuji, but Japanese speaker refer to the mountain as Fuji-San. This is the highest mountain in Japan, at 3776.24 m. An active stratovolcano that last erupted in 1707-08, Mount Fuji lies about 60 miles south-west of Tokyo, and can be seen from there on clear day.
